Dierck James Dean, age 53, went home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 10, 2012, surrounded by the love of his family. Dierck spent his life loving his wife and three daughters. His final lesson to his family was showing them the peace that could only be found in the comfort of Jesus. His life ended in a courageous battle with cancer, but was lived to the fullest every day prior. Dierck was born June 10, 1959 in Caro, the son of the late Earl Reginald & Margaret Marie (Anderson) Dean, and graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School with the class of 1977. He was united in marriage with the former Corrine “Corky” Suranye on September 20, 1986 in Caro, and the couple cherished more than twenty-five years together. Dierck would consider his fulltime occupation to be a University of Michigan football fan, but he paid the bills as a line haul driver for USF Holland. He was previously employed by the Tuscola & Saginaw Bay Railway Company as an engineer. Dierck was a member of the Colwood United Brethren Church in Caro, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was very mechanical, and enjoyed buying, rebuilding and refurbishing “treasures” for which he was constantly on the lookout. He was most likely to be found in his shop where he loved tinkering. Dierck also enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife, Corky Dean of Caro; three daughters, Melissa, Kelsey and Lindsay Dean, all of Caro; two brothers, one sister and their spouses, Thomas & Dawn Dean of Houghton Lake, Michael Dean of Caro, Sherri & Mike Hoy of Caro, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Colwood United Brethren Church in Caro with Pastor Jason M. Garwood officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later date at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A Masonic Service, conducted by the Caro Mount Moriah Lodge #226 will conclude the visitation at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro Masonic Lodge #226 Scholarship Fund.
