Dolores Ann Culbert

Dolores Ann Culbert of Caro passed from her loving husband's arms into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 following a strong-willed battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, at the age of 76. Dolores was born January 25, 1943 in Saginaw, the oldest of three children born to the late Ruben & Alma (Mayer) Hecht. She survived Polio as a young girl, and even though the disease left her right arm paralyzed, she never felt limited. Dolores graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1961 and earned her associate degree from Delta College in Saginaw. On September 26, 1969, she married the love of her life, Mark Culbert, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. Dolores spent thirty-nine years as a legal secretary, first with James P. Churchill, then with Maurice Ransford, and finally with Gary Crews at the law firm of Ransford & Crews in Caro. She adored time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for her generous spirit, always placing the needs of others before her own. Dolores is survived by her husband, Mark Culbert of Caro; two siblings and their spouses, Bonnie & Gary Rapson of Fife Lake, Kenneth & Marcella Hecht of Vassar; sister-in-law, Maryann Cartwright of Caro; brother-in-law, Mike & Barb Culbert of Caro; uncle, John Mayer, Jr. of Richville; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and special friends. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Kenneth & Cora Culbert; great-niece, Angelique Marie Tappen; brother-in-law, Dennis Cartwright; and special friend, Ann Ruggles. Dolores' family would like to extend a special thanks to Doris Howell, Bev Perry, Arlo Ruggles, Silvia Buetow, and other friends for their many visits; the Richville Tape Ministry; the Tuscola County Medical Care Community for their compassionate care; Pastors Gadeken, Gillaspie and Wilczynski; and special childhood friend, Karen Koester. In keeping with Dolores' wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. Burial will follow at a later date in the church cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville Visitation Information Date: Thursday, April 4, 2019 Time: 10:00 am End Time: 11:00 am St. Michael's Lutheran Church Address: 3455 S Van Buren Rd Richville, Mi 48758 (989) 868-4791 | Map The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Service Information Date: Thursday, April 4, 2019 Time: 11:00 am St. Michael's Lutheran Church Address: 3455 S Van Buren Rd Richville, Mi 48758 (989) 868-4791 | Map In keeping with Dolores' wishes, cremation has taken place.
