Dolores "Peg" Harrington

Dolores M. Harrington of Cass City, formerly of Akron, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Northwood Meadows in Cass City. She was born April 15, 1923 in Grosse Pointe, the daughter of the late Albert and Sophia (Roller) Peglow. Dolores was united in marriage with Wayne Harrington on January 1, 1944 in Caro. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1988. In her early years, Peg concentrated on raising her boys with love and guidance, baking bread and more bread, plus field chores, such as hoeing beans in her "spare time". In later years, Peg enjoyed the simple pleasures of life - family visits, sunsets on Saginaw Bay, self-caught perch dinners, golf, naps and even the Detroit Pistons. Dolores is survived by three sons and their wives, Ronald & Lynn Harrington of Denver, Colorado, Gary & Judy Harrington of Frankenmuth, Dennis & Chris Harrington of Palmetto, Florida; five grandchildren, Jodie & Dan Dolgner, Todd & Rebecca Harrington, Heather Harrington, Brad Harrington, Julie & Richard Miller; seven great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law and his wife, John & Emily Harrington; a sister-in-law, Barbara Downing; and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Dan Gonder officiating. Burial will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00.
