Dolores Ann Tait of Caro, age 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Dolores was born January 11, 1939, in Caro, the daughter of the late Clair and Leora (Chambers) Tait and was a 1957 graduate of Caro High School. She was united in marriage with Dilles Raymond Walker on June 22, 1957 and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2015. Dolores retired from the Personal Independence Center in Caro and was an active volunteer at the Harrison and Caro Moose Lodges where she had a life membership. She was always up for bowling and absolutely adored and cherished being a mother and grandmother.
Dolores is survived by three children, Kathleen (David) Muz of Caro, Charlotte (Mark) Kish of Caro, and Dilles (Susan) Walker of North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren, Snowann (Mitch) Colosky of Vassar, Allen Popp, Jr. of Caro, Fawn (David) Niederich of Caro, James Popp of Caro, Sonya (Jeremy) Thompson of Mayville, Raymond (Kristin) Popp of Caro, Tyler Muz (Katelyn Koepf) of Caro, Nicholas Kish of Caro, Nehemiah (Yuhui) Kish of London, England, and Melies Kish (Robert Coulter) of Indiana, Dilles (Jessica) Walker of North Carolina, Daphne (Adam) Nault of North Carolina and Heath Walker of North Carolina; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by one son in 1961, Willis Walker (twin to Dilles); one grandson in 1983, Nathan Talbot Popp; two sisters, Charlotte Tait and Virgene (Fritz) (Uhl) Tafel; and five brothers, Claire, Colin, Bruce, James, and Darwin Tait.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Paul Demyanovich officiating. Dolores’ family will be present to receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at East Dayton Cemetery at a later date.
