Dolores Leona Weisz, “Momma Dee, Gramma Dee, Fisherman Dee,” age 79, of Caseville, died Monday, December 1, 2008 at home while under hospice care.
She was born March 11, 1929 in Saginaw to the late Glenn and Martha (Hak) Ihrke. She married Roy “Bud” Weisz of New Castle, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death.
Dolores moved from Saginaw to Caseville in the 1970's. She enjoyed perch and walleye fishing with the guys in Saginaw Bay, gambling and crossword puzzles. She had been employed at Arlen’s Duck Inn and Joe’s Pizzeria, and also did catering at the Outdoor Center at Sleeper State Park for Ted Nugent and others. She was a member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary #3690.
She is survived by her sister Barbara (Robert) Keyser; sons Donald Howard (Patricia) Herbin and John Baker; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; live-in adopted daughter Mary Huff and special longtime friend Indian Joe Gaertner.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Howard Ihrke and Jerry Martin, son Larry Dierich, daughter Marti Lynn Gamache.
An Eagles Memorial Ritual and Luncheon will be at 1:00PM Sunday, December 7th at the Caseville Eagles Hall.
