Donald K. Davis, 83 of Sebewaing, (aka) Don Kaye Davis, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, December 22, 2017, at Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon.
Don was born January 23, 1934 in Sebewaing, son of the late Erroll and Iva (Otto) Davis. He was a 1952 graduate of Sebewaing High School and served with the U.S. Army in Germany in 1956-57. Don and Frances B. Heinlein were married July 2, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church, Bay City.
Don worked in his early years with his father, Erroll Davis, owner of Sebewaing Lumber Co. He became a Machinist and retired from Sebewaing Tool and Engineering in 1996 after 34 years of service. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sebewaing. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed camping, woodworking and boating, having built several small watercraft in his early years.
Surviving are his wife, Frances, of fifty-seven years; his children, Laurie (David) Claerhout of Suttons Bay, MI, Barbara (Josef) Haas of Mundelein, IL, and Timothy (Maria) Davis of Waldorf, MD; six grandchildren, Alison Claerhout, Danielle (Dustin) Henderson, Max Haas, Grace (Fred) Ramirez, Jovy Fernandez and George Fernandez; three great-grandchildren, Faith and Tyler Ramirez and Moses Henderson; two sisters, Shelby Hofmeister of Essexville and Sandra Strieter of Unionville; one brother–in-law, Robert (Faith) Heinlein of Vassar; one sister-in-law, Linda Caspers of Bay City, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents and two brothers-in-law, Barry Strieter and Gene Hofmeister, preceded him in death.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation and Memorial Service will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sebewaing, Saturday, January 20, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Boyer of Immanuel officiating.
Arrangements were made by Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home, Sebewaing. Officiating: Rev. Michael Boyer of Immanuel.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or charity of donor's choice.
