Donald R. Deering age 80 of Grant Twp. near Elkton died Monday evening, April 1, at Covenant Cooper, Saginaw.
He was born September 20, 1932 in Oliver Twp. to the late Jacob and Katherine (Frank) Deering Sr.

Don served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, returning home in June of 1956.
On June 27, 1959, he was united in marriage to Doris M. Dewald at St. John’s Lutheran Church, AuGres. Don lived and farmed in Grant Twp. all his married life. After retiring in 1996, Don spent much of his free time restoring antique farm machinery.
He was member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bad Axe.

Surviving are his wife, Doris; two sons, Darrin (Susan) Deering of Colfax Twp. and Dean Deering of Grant Twp.; three grandchildren, Emily, Kayla and Travis; four brothers, Bill (Beatrice) Deering of Bad Axe, Harold Deering of Cass City, Gerald (Judy) Deering of Caseville and Richard (Joyce) Deering of Sandusky; his sister, Frances Spaeth of Ocala, FL and three sisters-in-law, Elvera Deering of Elkton, Vera Deering of Cass City and Janet Deering of Pigeon.

Preceding him in death were four brothers, Edward, Jacob Jr., Ralph and infant brother, John Deering and two sisters, Ada Hutchinson and Esther Schweitzer.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, April 5, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bad Axe. Rev. Kenneth Lueke, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.

Friends may call at Champagne Funeral chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Thursday and at church after 10 AM Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Church or the donor choic
