Donald R. Harris

Donald R. Harris of Caro, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Don was born December 21, 1937 in Wayne, the son of the late Rollie and Grace (Colby) Harris. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army, and was united in marriage with the former Peggy Curtis on July 22, 1990. Don was employed as a truck driver with Chrysler Corporation for more than twenty-two years. He was known for his great sense of humor before and during his illness. Don loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of New Creation Church in Caro. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Harris of Caro; two daughters, Kathy Bieniewicz, and Debbie Somoski and her husband, Brian; two step-sons and their spouses, Stephen & Melissa McArthur, Daniel & Shari McArthur; his grandchildren, Joey & Tiffany Bieniewicz, Joshua & Christa Bieniewicz, Drake & Mackenzie McArthur, Skylar McArthur, Arik McArthur, Abby McArthur, Evelyn McArthur, Kara Delaney, Jason Delaney, Tyler Delaney, Nicholas Somoski, Lindsey Somoski, and Dylan Somoski; three great-grandchildren, Evan Williams, Cole Bieniewicz and Daliah Bieniewicz; one sister-in-law and her spouse, Pamela & Jake Pena; one brother-in-law, Keith Curtis; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. In keeping with Don's wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date.
