Donald R. Jamison, age 87, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at his home, following a brief illness. Don was born June 18, 1922 in Detroit, the son of the late Charles Frank & Elizabeth (Larson) Jamison. He enlisted with the United States Army in 1941 and served in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, the Ardennes Central Europe and Iceland. Shortly after his return from the service, Don was united in marriage with the former Esther G. Lewis on September 28, 1945 at the Colling Nazarene Church, and the couple cherished more than sixty-four years together. He was employed for over twenty-eight years with General Motors in the Grey Iron Foundry, retiring in 1977. Don was a member of the Caro Church of the Nazarene and the Caro VFW Post #4164. He loved to garden, play shuffleboard and in his younger years enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. Don is survived by his loving wife, Esther Jamison of Caro; three children and their spouses, Larry & Judy Jamison, Sharon & Louis Muska, Marcia Stutes, all of Caro; five grandchildren and their spouses, Eric Muska, Angie & Doug Hornbacher, all of Caro, Dana & Jon Arlien of Incline Village, Nevada, Erica & Kyle Ruppert of Lexington, South Carolina, Tamara & Charles Baxter of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Trevor, Macie, Nolan, Ellie, Norah and Emma; one sister, Virginia Pailes of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by one grandson, Dean Muska; one great-granddaughter, Chelbie Baxter; two sisters and three brothers, Hazel Peterhans, Charles Jamison, Jean Edsall, George Jamison and Kenneth Jamison.
