Donald Michael Krenz "The Worm," age 63 of Pigeon and formerly of Bay Port and Saginaw, our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend of many, fought a diligent battle with cancer and passed peacefully with his amazing wife, family, and friends by his side on April 9, 2012.
Don was born May 16, 1948 to William and Ruth Krenz of Saginaw. On May 8, 1998 he was married to Gail Horn in Bad Axe.
Don was an honorary retiree of the Local 47 of Saginaw. He was a 1965 graduate of Buena Vista High School, Saginaw. He enjoyed watching Judges & Copsthe two things he tried to avoid most in life.
Don is survived by his wife, Gail, of Pigeon; his mother-in-law, Bette Horn of Pigeon; siblings, Robert (Carol) Krenz of Reese, Maryanne Krenz of Bay Port, Sally (Jeff) Schnake of Lavonia, Georgia, and Kenneth Krenz of Bay Port; three children, Tracy, Kari, and Michael of Florida; three stepchildren, Gina (John) Retford of Owendale, Michael (Denise) Apley of Bad Axe, and Alicia Apley (special friend Bill Lovaas) of Bad Axe; and brothers-in-law Bill (Ginger) Horn of Haslett and Tom Horn of Pigeon. He is also survived by many grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Ruth Krenz; his father-in-law, Roy Horn; brother, Billy Krenz; and special Aunt, Grace Findley.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Chaplain Karen Bouverette officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Randy Damm, Mike Graff, Rich Graff, Chris Heck, Ryan Smith, and Jim Simmons.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Pigeon District Library.
