Donald P. Loeffler

Donald P. Loeffler , age 85, of Sebewaing, passed away at Brian's House in Essexville on August 6, 2022.

Don was born in Sebewaing on August 28, 1936, to Paul and Bertha (Bergman) Loeffler. He was baptized, confirmed and attended school through the 8 ^th grade at Immanuel Lutheran Church/School in Sebewaing. He graduated in 1955 from Sebewaing High School. Don then married Vernita Gibbs on August 27, 1955 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He started out working at the Sebewaing Brewery, Sebewaing Sugar Factory, was a janitor at Sebewaing Schools and retired in January 1995 from General Motors. Don absolutely loved the Detroit Tigers. He also enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, feeding the birds, working puzzles, woodworking, traveling to see all the different lighthouses and being with his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Vernita; children: Gary Loeffler of Sebewaing, Bruce (Carol) Loeffler of Yale, Michele (Jerry) Harbuck of Sebewaing and Renee (Bill) Dickson of Frankenmuth; daughter-in-law, Carol Loeffler of Sebewaing; sister, Janis (Dennis) Pardeik of Flushing; 11 grandchildren: Aaron (Charissa) Loeffler, Christopher (Justine) Loeffler, Brian (Kelsey) Loeffler, Hannah (Ryan) LaFave, Chelsie (fiancé Tim Jean) Loeffler, Brandon (fiancé Jacqueline Rousseau) Loeffler, Jordon Loeffler, Karie (Joshua) Wardynski, Amanda (Scott) Feehan, Elizabeth (Brandon Shrewsberry) Dickson and Billy Dickson; and 7 great grandchildren.

Don is preceded in death by his son, Michael Loeffler and sister, Elaine Martin.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Memorial donations may be given to Seasons Change Hospice in Pigeon, Immanuel Lutheran Church or Christ the King Lutheran School in Sebewaing.
