Donald C. Niedrich

Donald C. Niedrich, age 83, of Unionville, passed away early Friday morning, April 25, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City.

Donald was born August 29, 1930 in Unionville to the late Albert and Minnie (Menzel) Niedrich. He is a U.S. Marine Corp veteran. After his time in the service he married Esther Scharich on January 27, 1951. He was a long time farmer in the area and also worked for Gray Iron Foundry/General Motors for over 40 years. He and Esther enjoyed traveling, playing cards and were members at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville.

Donald is survived by his children: Donald, Jr. and Linda Niedrich of Essesville, Robert and Susanne Niedrich of Birch Run and William and Tracey Niedrich of Bridgeport; grandchildren: Jeremy, Kyle, Emily and Amanda Niedrich; siblings: Harvey and Mary Niedrich of Unionville, Betty Ewald of Unionville and Gerald and Kay Niedrich of Caseville; brothers-in-law: Glen Scharich, Elmer and Darlene Scharich; and many nieces and nephews.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther; sister, Doris Werschky; infant granddaughter, Tricia Niedrich; and grandson, Shane Niedrich.

Visitation is Monday, April 28, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

The funeral service is Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Visitation will begin at the church at 12noon until the time of service at 1pm.

Burial will take place privately at St. John Lutheran Cemetery-Kilmanagh, in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville.
