Donald Paul Titus, age 76, of Caro died on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper in Saginaw. He was born on January 5, 1935 in Dayton Township to the late Charles and Phylan (Reid) Titus. Don was a 1953 graduate of Mayville High School and a lifelong resident of Tuscola County. On February 6, 1954 he married the former Maxine Dykes at Alpena. He was a lifelong body shop employee, working first at Putts Body Shop and then for 35 years at what became Pat Curtis Chevrolet, retiring as body shop manager. He was a member of the Silverwood United Methodist Church, Tuscola County Archers, Caro Moose Lodge #1049, and a former member of the Caro Lions. He enjoyed his garden, cooking, hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor activities. Don liked hanging out with his family. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; two sons, Mitch Titus of Caro, and Mark (Kelly) Titus of Cass City; one granddaughter, Bailey Titus of Cass City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings and their spouses, Roy and Viola Titus, Arthur and Wilma Titus, Lula and Vern Cowles, June and Ralph Salisbury, Emily and Andy Robinson, Thompson and Belle Titus. A memorial service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ron Hutchinson, Silverwood United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be visitation at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place, and burial will be at a later date.
