Donald Frederick Wright

Donald F. Wright, 77, of Sand Point, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.

Don was born October 20, 1940 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to the late William W. and Kathleen Emma (Holloway) Wright.  He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in engineering.  He worked two years for Boeing before beginning a 32 year career with Ford Motor Company.  He retired in 2001 and moved from Farmington Hills to his home on Sand Point.  He was a nature lover who enjoyed bicycling, photography, boating and cross country skiing.  He was a devoted father and husband.

He is survived by his wife Cathy; son Don Jr. of Austria and daughter Diana (Michael) Vedder of California; grandchildren Gray and Stella Vedder; and brother Allan (Marlene) Wright of British Columbia.

A memorial service will be at 3:30 Saturday, January 20 ^th at the Harold Vick Funeral Home, 140 S. Main Street, Mt. Clemens.  Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00pm Saturday until the time of the service.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the cremation arrangements.  Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
