Donna Adella Athanasoff

Donna Adella Athanasoff, age 100, of Caro, formerly of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Hertiage Hill Assisted Living. Donna was born on April 18, 1923, the daughter of the late James and Elsie (Murphy) Crantas. She grew up in Pontiac and graduated as Salutatorian from Pontiac Central. Donna worked in the restaurant industry for fifty-five years, owning and operating. Following her restaurant endeavors, she went on to manage apartment complexes in Rochester for thirty years, retiring at the young age of eighty-five. Working was Donna’s hobby, she was dedicated and always kept herself busy with various hobbies. She enjoyed golfing and was on a golf league until she was ninety-five. Donna loved going on cruises and seeing all the different countries and cultures. She was a die-hard sports fan, always rooting for number one teams, the Detroit Lions and Tigers – the sports world will never be the same without her cheering them on. Donna was a bright shining light and loved by all. Her positive, kind, happy, and hardworking memory will live on in all those who were lucky enough to know her.

Donna leaves to cherish her memory, her three daughters, Mary Ann (Tadd) Pockrandt, Diane (Alan) Gregory, and Joanne (Jim) Morical; five grandsons, Zane (Keri) Pockrandt, Vaughn Pockrandt, Shaye Pockrandt, Austin Gregory, and Nolan Gregory; great-grandson, James (Melanie); great-great-grandchildren, Mariah and Jordyn. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her siblings, Audrey and Bill.

In keeping with Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
