Donna-Beth "Donna" Siegner

Donna-Beth Siegner of Caro, age 81, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison in Saginaw, following a period of declining health. Donna was born September 26, 1937 in Hamburg, New York, the daughter of the late Kenneth G. & Rose L. (Burrows) Sherwood. She moved to Detroit with her parents as a young girl and graduated from MacKenzie High School with the Class of 1955, where she found the love of her life. Donna was united in marriage with John H. Siegner on November 27, 1959 in Detroit, and he survives. In that same year, Donna earned a bachelor's degree and later a teaching certification from Wayne State University. She taught for a brief time in Detroit and later in Missouri while her husband finished medical school. In 1964, the couple moved to the area and Donna focused all of her love and attention on raising her three boys. She was a devoted member of the Caro First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Ordained Ruling Elder, choir member and children's choir director. She was also a member of the Caro Garden Club and participated in a weekly gardening broadcast on WKYO Radio. Donna enjoyed skiing, golfing, bowling and traveling the country with her family. She gave limitlessly of herself and will be remembered for her abiding love of family and friends. Donna-Beth is survived by her loving husband of nearly sixty years, John H. Siegner, D.O. of Caro; three children and their spouses, John S. Siegner of Holland, Stuart & Kimberly Siegner of Clarkston, Scott & Wing Siegner of Santa Rosa, California; five grandchildren, Nicole, Molly, Drake, Drew and Sophia Siegner; sister-in-law, Gayle & Robison Burns of St. Clair Shores; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by two siblings, Harry Sherwood and Marilyn Mahlmeister. A celebration of Donna's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Caro First Presbyterian Church with Nicholas Schmelter officiating.
