Donna Mae Randall Rieck was called home on July 19, 2026, in Caro. Donna was born to Leonard and Sadie Randall on March 6, 1940. She was born and raised in Kingston and graduated in 1958 from Kingston. While in school, she played in the band, was a cheerleader, sang in the choir, played basketball, and served on several committees.
She married Douglas Rieck on May 9, 1959, and the couple had two children. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2026.
She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild, was president of the Women’s Association, taught Sunday School, and was advisor to the youth group. She served many years with the Girl Scouts. She was neighborhood chairman, camp director, leader of Brownies, Juniors, Cadets, and Senior Scouts. She also served on the Board of Directors for Mitten Bay. She also helped the Cub Scouts as Den Mother. Donna served as vice president of the Caro High School Band. She also sat on the Caro Hospital Endowment Board and served as vice president of the Caro Chamber of Commerce. She loved playing cards and working on puzzles.
Donna is survived by her children, Dale and Audrey of Caro, and Dawn and Larry Marruffo of Crystal Lake, Illinois; four grandchildren, Alex and Talia and Dan and Megan of Caro, Allison and Romeo Hernandez, and Anna Marruffo of Crystal Lake, Illinois; two great-grandsons, Levi and Walker Hernandez of Crystal Lake, Illinois; and a sister, Leona Koppleberger of Ithaca, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Doug.
A funeral service for Donna will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 503 South State Street, Caro, MI 48723. Visitation will take place on Thursday July 23, 2026, at Ransford Funeral Home – Caro, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service. Internment will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Caro.
