Gagetown, age 80 died unexpectedly, Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at her home.
She was born in Gagetown, October 3, 1930, daughter of the late Ray and Mary (Schwartz) Burrows. She was united in marriage to Tom Salcido on July 14, 1947 in Toledo, OH, he preceded her in death on March 18, 2007.
Donna had been employed at Automotive Industries in Owendale for 29 years and also operated Donna's Restaurant in Gagetown for many years before retiring in 1979.
She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed shooting pool, playing bingo, was a wonderful host, entertainer and homemaker. Her greatest love was her family and cooking.
Surviving are 2 daughters, 2 sons and spouses; Joan Tomich, Gagetown;
Donna Lee (Andy) Nichols, Tommy (Tammy) Salcido, all of Caro; Michael (Beth) Salcido, Lapeer; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; also one sister, Nora Lee Miklia, Oxford; one brother, William (Nancy) Burrows; Gagetown; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Wayne Tomich.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Gagetown. Sister Dorothy Blasko will officiate with burial to take place later in Grant Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday; 2 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
She will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
There will be a Scripture service held at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Friday.
