Donna Fassett Schulze

Donna Fassett Schulze passed at the age of 59 at her Pigeon home Friday morning, September 25, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born February 5, 1950 in Cass City to Margaret (Churchill) Fassett and the late Donald Fassett.
Being a big promoter of education, she completed her master's degree in social work from University of Michigan in 1993, her bachelor's degree in social work from Michigan State in 1974 and was a graduating member of the Bad Axe School class of 1968. She married in Frankfort, MI in 1978 and was blessed with three children.
Donna worked in Social Work Services at Scheurer Hospital, at Huron County Mental Health, List Psychological Center, and at Cass City Adult Day Treatment Center.
Loving her hobby of stained glass, her beautiful art pieces filled many homes and can be seen in many places including Cross Lutheran Church where she was a member. Her additional hobbies included needlepoint, basket weaving, flower gardening and numerous others. She was actively involved in National and Local Autistic Societies as well as being an advocate for children with disabilities and was a member of National Association of Social Workers. She will always be remembered for the tough, independent, loving, patient, determined, creative woman that she was and will be forever loved by the people whose lives she touched.
Donna is survived by her children: Shane Schulze and his fiancée', Jessica Dadas of Ypsilanti, Luke Schulze of Ubly and Tressa (Curt) Walz of Hillard, OH; her mother Margaret Fassett Springstead of Snover; her brother Dennis (Susan) Fassett of Fenton; her sisters, Sally (Glenn) Welch of Clifford and Sharon (Anad) Kancherlapalli of Bad Axe; nephew, Nicholas Weber of New York City and nieces, Shara (Ryan) Wilcox of Marlette and Kaitlin Weber of East Lansing and her great niece, Addyson Wilcox.
. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 30, at Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon with graveside services for the family at Moore Township Cemetery in Snover. The family will receive friends from 2 to 9 PM Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton and at the church after 10:00 AM Wednesday.

Memorial may be given to Organization for Autism Research.
