Donna Jean Sprague

Donna Jean Sprague of Caro, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Covenant Health Care – Cooper in Saginaw. Donna was born December 13, 1954 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Evelyn (Dodge) Russell. She graduated from Cass City High School with the class of 1973. Donna worked at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community for thirty-five years as a CNA and activities director, retiring in 2016. She was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge, enjoyed gardening, camping, and loved to crochet. Donna was a big fan of DIY projects and always seemed to be working on some part of the house. She collected all sorts of gnomes, absolutely adored her furbabies, and always cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Donna had a big heart and a great sense of humor. No matter who she met, she was always able to touch their heart with her out going and humorous personality. Donna loved to have fun and you could always count on her quick wit to make you smile. Though she may no longer be with us, her laughter will live on in our hearts forever, a reminder of the incredible woman she was and the profound impact she had on those lucky enough to know her.

Donna leaves to cherish her memory her children and their spouses, Scott & Michelle Martin, Jason & Rebecca Martin, Rickie & Nick Dooley, and Josh & Allisa Martin; grandchildren, Kamryn, Christopher, Dylan, Mason, Jasmine, Hunter, Hayden, Faith, Zander, Olivia, Jacob, Alya, Gavin, and Serenity; great-grandchildren, Nichole and one on the way, Rowan; sister, Beverly Smith; brother-in-law, Roger Trisch; many nieces and nephews; and furbabies, Ozzy, Jade, and Autumn. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Trisch and Janet & Kenneth Thomas; brother-in-law, Ross Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Donna’s service.
