Dora "Tiny" Grigg

Dora “Tiny” Grigg age 86, of Elkton went home to her Lord Tuesday morning, July15, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe.

She was born May 15, 1928, to the late Joseph and Sarah (Carriveau) Souva at their home in Meade Twp. near Pinnebog.
On May 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to Loren R. Grigg at the Methodist parsonage in Pigeon. Loren preceded her in death January 31, 2005.

Tiny worked for many years at the Elkton Dairy Bar, for a time at Knechtel’s Market and had been a cook/waitress at the Lunch Bucket. She then started her own restaurant; Tiny’s Kitchen at the west edge of Elkton and operated it until taking a position at the Laker Schools Cafeteria retiring in 2004.
Dora attended the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton United Methodist Church and was a member of the Elkton Historical Society. She loved playing golf, cards and bingo. She especially enjoyed cooking for large gatherings.

Surviving are her daughters, Penny (Brent) Woodward of Elkton and Kitty (Bill) Sampson of Kinde; two sons, Russ (Cheryl) Grigg of Essexville and Joe (Heather) Grigg of Saginaw; her daughter-in-law, Judith Grigg of Bad Axe; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Hollingshead and Ilene Young both of Elkton, June Nicol of Deford and Jean Kuhn of Marian, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her son, Robert; three brothers, Nelson, Henry and Ray and five sisters, Annabelle, Marietta, Mildred, Marie, Aritta and Cecelia.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, July 18, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. DeWeerd Smith will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 8 PM Thursday and at the church after 10 AM Friday.
Memorials may be given to Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton United Methodist Church, Activities Fund at the Medical Care Facility or the donor’s choice.
