Dora M. Botwright Killinger, 86 of Pigeon, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care, Pigeon.
Born in Caseville on February 15, 1931, she was the daughter of Albert and Mabel C. (Grigg) Botwright. On August 5, 1950 she and Lavere D. Killinger were united in marriage in Caseville, and he preceded her in death on October 9, 2007.
Dora was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Pigeon, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and took part in many activities of the church, including the church rummage sale. She was active with the Community Christmas Bazaar, which had been held at Laker High School for many years. In addition, she was very supportive of the Bluewater Thumb Youth for Christ and Bay Shore Camp. She loved her sports, and going for rides in the car with her husband Lavere. Dora was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Loretta (William) Greyerbiehl of Bad Axe; sons Dwight "Ike" (Glenda) Killinger of Reese, Lyle (Laura) Killinger of Harbor Beach, and Dale Killinger of Caseville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Kurzer Miller of Caseville; brother Harold Botwright of Bay City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Botwright and sister, Losetta Radabaugh.
A Celebration of Life for Dora will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, Pigeon, with Rev. Cindy Gibbs and Pastor Ken Smeader officiating. Cremation will take place, and interment at Caseville Township Cemetery will take place on Dora and Lavere's wedding anniversary.
