Doris G. Austin-Ball, age 71, of Caro died on Friday May 27, 2011 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on July 2, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Albert and Edith (St. Clair) Pearsall. On December 18, 1981 she was united in marriage to Norman Charles Ball. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2003. Doris was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother who treasured and cherished her family. She also enjoyed reading and taking occasional trips to the casino. She was a foster parent for 20 years with the Tuscola County Juvenile Division. She is survived by five children, Harvey (Debbie) Reaver of Caro, Vicky (Mark) Grabitz of Caro, Brian Reaver of Akron, Richard (Ronda) Jeffery of Deford, and Roger (AnMarie) Austin of Deford; a step-son, Lavern (Pat) Kitchenmaster of California; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Barrett; her dear friends, Roger W. Austin, Jeanette Shaver, Sandra and Roger Miller, Willie McComb, and Jeannie Epskamp; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Misty Lynn; a brother, Albert Pearsall; sisters, Edith May ORose, Susan Daniels, Maryellen Putnam; a step-son, Norman Kitchenmaster; and her dear friends, Lucille McCrea and Tom Simon. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Marc Herron will officiate. Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.
