Doris M. Britton

Doris M. Britton of Kingston, age 88, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. She was born July 13, 1926 in Decker, the daughter of the late George and Clara (Thompson) Fifield. Doris was united in marriage with Arthur Clark Britton on May 7, 1955 at the Dayton Center Church. She was employed by Quality House Drapery and had made curtains for Jonathon Winters, GM Motor Homes, the King of Saudi Arabia, and the Dayton Center Church. Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed making bread and sewing. She was a member of the Dayton Center Church. Doris is survived by one daughter, two sons, and their spouses, Susan & Tony Szcygiel of Kingston, Terry & Linda Britton of Macomb, Mark & Renee Britton of Vassar; nine grandchildren, Rebekah (Curt), Philip (Melissa), Morgan (Shannon), Nicholas, Emani, Nathaniel, Brittany, Courtney, Kailey; six great-grandchildren, Grayson, Brady, Madeline, Braden, Landon and Addison; daughter-in-law, Kerri. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Alvin, Clayton, Jeanette and Jeanine. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Dayton Center Church, 3633 Phelps Lake Road, Silverwood with Pastor Taylor McManigell officiating. Burial will follow at East Dayton Cemetery in Caro. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Doris Britton Family Discretionary Fund, 205 W.
