Doris Cox

Doris Mae Cox, age 90, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at Tendercare in Cass City, following a lengthy illness. She was born December 12, 1920 in Detroit, the daughter of the late James & Hattie (Carr) Sweet. She was united in marriage with Francis Hillary Cox on May 6, 1950 at the Gilead Baptist Church in Detroit, and the couple made their home in Caro shortly after. Francis preceded her in death on August 5, 1972. Doris spent her time living quietly in her home, with her pet cats, writing poetry and enjoying her time going to church. Doris is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe, John, William, Edwin, Lewis, and a twin brother at birth.
