Doris Hillaker

Doris Annette Ewing Hillaker, age 73, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Caro Community Hospital. She was born on May 4, 1937 in St. Charles, Michigan to the late Earl and Laura (Hubbard) Ewing. She loved swimming, reading, traveling, camping and feeding her hummingbirds. Doris worked at the Caro State Hospital in Caro until 1980, when she retired to travel with her husband, Lee. Left to cherish Doris memory are her loving husband of more than thirty-seven years, Lee, whom she married on March 16, 1973; three sons and two step-daughters and their spouses, Rick (Kathy) Hunt of Skandia, Randy (Dorothy) Hunt of Millington, David Hunt (Sherry Simmons) of Tawas City; Marsha (Greg) Roth of Fremont, California, Jodi (Larry) Haubenstricker of Fairgrove; ten grandchildren, George, Julie, Jacob, Randy II (Mary Schutte), Bryan Hunt, Jessica (Neff) Flores, Jennifer Hunt, Katelyn Haubenstricker, Amanda and Joseph Roth; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Heidi and Garrett Hunt; six brothers and one sister, Norman (Betty) Ewing, Frank Ewing, Russell (Daisy) Ewing, Paul Ewing, Walt (Lelly) Ewing, Duane (Marie) Ewing and Velma (Ken) Allen; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lauralee Ewing; and two sisters-in-law, JoAnne and Pat Ewing. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Smith, Caro United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery, Fairgrove. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
