Doris L. Parsons

Doris L. Parsons of Caro, age 83, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro, following a period of declining health. Doris was born February 12, 1931 in Mayville, the daughter of the late Fay & Irene (Lumley) TerBush, and graduated from Mayville High School with the class of 1949. She was united in marriage with John R. Parsons on May 27, 1950 and cherished more than sixty-two years of marriage with him until his death on May 4, 2013. Doris spent most of her working career as an office manager for several medical facilities, including Women's Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada and Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco, Texas. She also worked for VG's Grocery in Caro before finally retiring at the age of 70. She attended Pentecostal Temple in Midland and also volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Caro for many years. Doris will be remembered fondly by those that knew her boundless energy and creativity. She was an amazing, beautiful, smart, loving and talented person. Doris had an infectious smile that could light up a room, was incredibly talented and had a green thumb to be envious of. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and was passionately in love with her husband, John. Doris is survived by two sons, Bradford Parsons of Caro and Pastor Michael Parsons and his wife, Dianne, of Midland; three grandchildren, Ann Rochelle (Butch) Westover, Adam Parsons and John Parsons; four great-grandchildren, Haley Westover, Justin Westover, Hunter Holly and John Crawford Holly; siblings, Donna Turner of Mayville, Jim TerBush of Rosebush, Hubert TerBush of Watrousville, Morley (Bonnie) TerBush of Flushing, Roger TerBush of Mt. Pleasant, Charlotte (Jerry) Brown of Mayville, Rosemary (Jim) Freeland of Fostoria, Rita (Wayne) Rhode of Fostoria, Lonnie (Denise) TerBush of Mayville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice and Ernest TerBush; and daughter-in-law, Ramona Parsons. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Michael Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
