Doris Grace Schmidt

Doris Grace Schmidt, 92, of Caseville, died Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Auburn at Toni and Trish House.

Doris was born November 8, 1925 in North Branch to the late John and Anna (Bader) Swoish.  She graduated in the first graduating class from North Branch High School.  She married Harold F. Schmidt February 25, 1954 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Detroit; he preceded her in death January 27, 2003.

Doris was a lifelong devout Catholic.  She enjoyed golfing and doing charitable work.  She raised her family in East Detroit, then moved to Troy, before retiring to Sand Point.

She is survived by her children Matthew of Shelby Twp, Carolyn (George) Taussig of Florida and Jeff of Chesterfield; daughter-in-law Kitty of Shelby Twp; grandchildren Kaylyn, Douglas, Eric, Grace, Stephen, Nicole and Christy; and siblings Raymond (Donna) Swoish of Taylor, Elizabeth Oshab of Sterling Heights and Audrey (Al) Coster of California.  She was preceded in death by her son Douglas and daughter-in-law Evet Schmidt.

A memorial mass will be 10:00am Saturday, September 22 ^nd at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Craig Carolan presiding followed by a funeral luncheon.  Urn interment will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
