Doris Belle Seigfreid

Doris Belle Seigfreid of Silverwood, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 4, 2019. Doris was born January 27, 1928 in Alma, North Carolina, the daughter of the late William & Della (Higdon) Shelton. She graduated from high school in Detroit and later graduated from beauty college in New York. For several years, Doris owned her own beauty shop in St. Clair Shores before beginning a twenty-year career as a dish maker with Mt. Clemens Pottery. She retired as a mail carrier with the New Haven Post Office. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crafting and playing poker. Doris is survived by two children, Dale Seigfreid of Silverwood, Douglas Jay Seigfreid of McComb; six grandchildren and their spouses, Lauren & Jason Vandeberghe, Jeffrey & Sheri Miller, Matthew Miller, Joshua & Kim Miller, Beau Seigfreid, Blaine Harborne; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Doris' wishes, cremation has taken place and no services have been planned at this time.
