Dorothy (Orlowski) Aldrich of Fairgrove, age 95, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. Dorothy was born May 30, 1922 in Detroit. She was united in marriage with Carl Aldrich on April 2, 1948 and moved to Fairgrove in 1954 when she began a twenty-one year career in the Akron-Fairgrove Public School District. Dorothy was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro. Dorothy had a love for life and enthusiasm for dancing that she leaves as precious gifts for her family, friends and dance students. As a ballroom dance instructor, she delighted in teaching dancing and giving dance demonstrations. Dorothy will be fondly remembered as she was often seen: a beautiful lady, gracefully dancing through life's joys and sorrows with her beloved partner, Carl. Surviving family members include Dorothy's loving son and his wife, Gregory & Susan Aldrich of Terre Haute, Indiana; dear granddaughter and her husband, Leah & Khanrad Wilson of Terre Haute, Indiana; two great-grandsons, Kellan and Liam Wilson of Terre Haute, Indiana. She is also survived by a half-brother and his wife, Richard & Marilyn Orlowski; half-sister, Geraldine Glaspie; step-sister, Gertrude Nieman; half-sister-in-law, Sue Profit; aunt, Beatrice Puszczyk; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Orlowski; adoptive father, Walter Orlowski, Sr.; step-brothers, Walter Orlowski, Jr., Edward Orlowski, Harry Orlowski and Chester Orlowski; half-brother, James Orlowski; half-brother-in-law, Grant Glaspie; step-sister-in-law, Jean Orlowski; aunt, Eleanor Ciesielski and nephews, Richard O. and Chris Glaspie. In keeping with Dorothy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family committal service will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove.
