Dorothy Blasius

Dorothy Blasius, age 73, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at That Touch of Class AFC Home in Caro, following a brief illness. Dorothy was born January 10, 1938 in Vassar, the daughter of the late Clarence & Cathrine (Shroyer) Levis and was a lifelong area resident. She was united in marriage with Richard Blasius on September 4, 1954 in Vassar. Richard preceded Dorothy in death on January 28, 2008 after fifty-four years of marriage. Dorothy continued to live in Vassar until moving to Caro about three years ago. For many years, Dorothy worked as a Secretary at the Juniata Christian School, later as a realtor in the Vassar area. During her free time, Dorothy loved sewing, crocheting and was an avid reader. Surviving Dorothy are three children and their spouses, Laura Blasius living in Maine, Brenda & Dennis Albrecht of Eaton Rapids, David & Sande Blasius of Gary, Indiana; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, William & Mary Lou Levis of Vassar and one sister, Donna Haskins of Vassar and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Richard Alan Blasius on January 27, 1978.
