Dorothy E. Bouverette, age 78 of Elkton, died Friday afternoon at Bay Medical Center, Bay City.
She was born July 22, 1931 in Colfax Twp to the late Russell and Ella Rose (Smith) Griggs.
On June 25, 1958, she was united in marriage to Fred Bouverette at St. Francis Catholic Church, Pigeon. He preceded her in death, May 8, 1991.
After raising her family, Dorothy worked as a rehabilitator with Thumb Industries for 15 years. She was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church serving as treasurer and teaching Sunday School. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing the harmonica and spent time with her family especially at Christmas.
Surviving are eight children, Cathy (David) Briesmister of Caseville, Diane Palach of Bad Axe, Barb (Tim) Heiden, Randy (Debbie) Bouverette, and Theresa (Gary) Miller all of Elkton, Mary (Paul) Greyerbiehl of Cass City, Keith (Jeni) Bouverette of Bad Axe and Tim of Croswell; 29 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jeff Grigg of Imlay City and Carl Grigg of Elkton; five sisters, Ella Mae Hollenshead, Ilene Young and Lucille (Ken) Schember all of Elkton, Jean Kuhn of Marion, OH and June Nicol of Kingston and her sister-in-law, Tiny Grigg of Elkton.
Preceding her in death were three sons, Tom, Terry and Fred Bouverette; three brothers, Bob, Loren and Leonard Grigg and two sisters, Annabelle Wiederhold and Shirley Griggs.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday at the Community Wesleyan Church, Elkton with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Sunday and at the church after 10 AM Monday.
Memorials may be given to the church.
