Dorothy Lee Colletta

Dorothy L. Colletta, 88, of Lake Township, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Country Gardens in Pigeon.

Dorothy was born July 15, 1936 in Detroit to the late Raymond and Esther (Hoffman) Pobanz.  In 1954 she graduated from East Detroit High School.  She married Louis Colletta on February 4, 1956 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Detroit.

After raising her family in St. Clair Shores she returned to school and received her Associates Degree in Accounting.  She worked as a bookkeeper for METS.  After retiring she moved to Lake Twp in 1994 where she was an election worker and volunteered for civic causes.  She loved reading, gardening, birdwatching and making friends wherever she went.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Louis; children Louis of Syracuse, NY, Marge (John Zott) of Alexandria, VA, and Jack (Katie) of Winter Garden, FL; grandchildren Christopher, Stephen (Nicki), Kassie (Brian), Adam, and Evan; great-grandchildren Olivia and Rhea; siblings Shirley Racioppa of Grand Prairie, TX, and Gerald (Sandy) Pobanz of Port Austin.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Friday, November 15th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Christopher Suggitt officiating.  Burial will be in Caseville Twp Cemetery.  Visitation will be 3-8pm Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Karmanos Cancer Institute.
