Dorothy Gillespie

Dorothy M. Gillespie, age 83, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper in Saginaw. She was born March 4, 1927 in Munger, the daughter of the late Richard August & Leona (Beechum) Meier, coming to this area in 1954. Dorothy was first married to Duaine R. Farnum. He preceded her in death in April of 1965. She was then united in marriage with Floyd V. Slim Gillespie in 1967. He preceded her in death in December of 1981. Dorothy loved being with and caring for her family, and later enjoyed her cats and going to garage sales. Left to cherish Dorothys memory are six children and their spouses, Lawrence Farnum of Fairgrove, Richard Farnum of Georgia, Virginia (Sue) & Joel Raymond of Mayville, Patrick Farnum of Florida, Gerry Beth & Charles Buckel of Fostoria, Joe & Carla Gillespie of Vassar; one son-in-law, Johnnie Randall of Vassar; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Beatrice Bea Randall in March of 2009; four brothers, Raymond, Charles, Lawrence and John Meier and one sister, Lillian Morcum.
