Dorothy Kenney

Dorothy Kenney, age 88, of Sebewaing, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2007 at Bay Regional Medical Center. The former Dorothy Mc Henry was born on September 12, 1919 in Detroit and came to the Thumb as a child. She was a Gagetown High School graduate and went on to Del Mar Beauty School in Detroit. She owned and operated Dorothys Beauty Salon in Sebewaing for 61 years. Dorothy was a “Rosie the Riveter”, contributing to the War Effort. She is survived by one daughter, Jane Rosenau of Caseville; two grandchildren, Rene (John) Allard of Clinton Township and Robert N. Rosenau of Warren; five great-grandchildren, Elisha, John II, Cory and Alexandria Allard and Jason Johnson; her siblings, Betty (Harold) Johnston of Alma and William (Jeanne) Mc Henry of Linwood; many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sadie and Claude Mc Henry, she was preceded in death by the remainder of her siblings, Herb Mc Henry, Evelyn Alley and Virginia Fournier. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Mary Ann Saenen, Lay Minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Caro. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
