Dorothy May McLeod, age 90 years, of W. Gilford Rd., Caro, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Tendercare in Cass City. Dorothy McLeod was born on July 27, 1916 in Pontiac, and came to Caro as a child. She was married to Donald McLeod, Sr., and he preceded her in death on May 20, 1982. Dorothy was employed with the State Savings Bank of Caro, Fairgrove Branch, from the early 1950s, and retired as Assistant Vice-President of the branch in 1988. She was a faithful member of the Fairgrove and Caro Church of the Nazarene for most of her life, during which time she taught Sunday School, was the church bookkeeper and played the piano. Dorothy enjoyed fishing, bowling and Bible study. She is survived by a son, Richard (Diane) McLeod of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Dorene McLeod of Caro; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Lorraine) McLeod of Stewart, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Richard (Ricky) McLeod, in 1965; and one son, Donald H. McLeod, in 2004. The funeral will be held at the Caro Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul McNett officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Dorothy McLeod family discretionary fund, c/o Dorene McLeod.
