Dorothy Leila Ortner

Dorothy L. Ortner, age 91, of Unionville, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Vadavilla AFC in Unionville.

Dorothy was born March 1, 1927, in Unionville, to Merle and Alma (Sattelberg) Currey. She married Arnold Ortner on September 3, 1949, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2007. Dorothy loved camping, gardening, mowing lawn, driving tractor, was a 4-H Leader for over 15 years, sewing, and singing years ago in the church choir. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville, Farm Bureau, and Chapter 59 Good Sam's-Thumb Crickets Camping Group.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Leila (late Gary) Rish of Unionville, Mary (Gary) Wissner of Sebewaing, Kevin (Gayle) Ortner of Bay City, and the late Debbie (survived by Dean) Poppy; grandchildren: Sarah Poppy, Suzanne (Jacob) Kanine, Kali and Jared Wissner, Hilary (Courtney) Rau, Devin (Alexis) Ortner and Kaleb Ortner; great grandchildren: Brady, Jackson, Addison, Morgan, Tyler, Toby and Dave; Siblings: Eldine (late Gerald) Parent, and the late Donald (survived by MaryAnn) Currey.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 3-8pm

The funeral service will be Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place at Columbia Twp. Cemetery.
