Dorothy Alyce Reige

Dorothy A. Reige, age 75, of Sebewaing, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Dorothy was born July 2, 1936 in Unionville to the late Omar & Esther Marie (Gerth) Pobanz. She graduated from Unionville High School in 1953. She then married Henry Reige on November 7, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Henry passed away March 6, 2001. Dorothy was a member of the Sebewaing VFW Post # 4115, Sebewaing American Legion Post # 293 Auxillary and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Kathryn (Michael) Southworth of Elkton and Karen (Ted, Jr.) Barber of Howell; grandchildren: Kristin (Paul) Hartsaw of Lombard, IL, Kelly Southworth of Elkton and Kameron (Teri) Southworth of Pigeon; step great grandchildren: Chloe and Madelane Rosa; sister: Nettie Ann Prokopenko of National City, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her siblings: Leon Vern Pobanz, Shirley Reige, Lloyd Pobanz, Norma Jean VanBevern and Carolyn Hoppe; and her son-in-law: Kerry Southworth.

Visitation Friday, March 30, 2012 from 3-8pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.

Funeral service Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church – General Fund or the Huron County Medical Care Facility-Activities Fund.
