Dorothy Agnes Wilson

Dorothy “Dottie” Agnes Wilson of Akron, age 89, passed away peacefully at her son’s home on Friday, April 26, 2024. Dottie was born August 20, 1934 in Snover, the daughter of the late Silas and Maggie (Litner) Philpot. She lived a very active life from beginning to end, although not having to work outside her home, she stayed very busy. Dottie raised two children and was a dedicated housewife to her husband, J.D. Wilson, whom she was married to in 1953. They lived their lives together in Akron until J.D. preceded her in death in 1998. Dorothy loved spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, and visiting people. You could often find her spending time outdoors tending to her beautiful flowers. Dottie had a fiery spirit and was never afraid to tell you what she was thinking.

Dorothy is survived by her two children & their spouses, Donald & Charlynn Wilson of Akron and Darlene Enos of Caro; three grandchildren, Jason & Ashleigh Enos of Vassar, Tiffanie Enos of Caro, and Brendon Wilson of Akron; great-grandchild, Jase Enos of Vassar. In addition to her husband and parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her brothers, Harvey and Leroy Philpot and sisters, Arlene Lewis and Iris Baughman.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Dorothy’s family will be present to receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of her service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Donald Wilson, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, Michigan 48723. A donation will be made to the Alzheimer’s Association from the contributions on Dorothy’s behalf by Donald.
