Douglas R. Brenner

Douglas R. Brenner , age 75, of Sebewaing, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at McLaren Bay Region Hospital with family by his side.

Doug was born on October 7, 1946, to Walter and Vivian (Kain) Brenner. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1965. He is a veteran of the United States Navy (1965-1969). On October 24, 1970, he married Ruth Ziel at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He retired from General Motor's in Saginaw. Doug was a life member of the Unionville American Legion Gateway Post number 421 and the Sebewaing VFW Sportmen's Post #4115 and was very active in both organizations.

Doug is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, John C. Brenner and daughter, Sally (Jamie) Collins; grandchildren: William Hubert and Sierra Jones; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Jim) Schaaf ; along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his sisters: Lynn (Larry Hahn and Kathy (Wayne) Trisch.

In keeping with Doug's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial is planned for Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Sebewaing VFW Sportsman's Hall on 265 Bay St. from 11am-2pm.
