Douglas S. Wheeling
Douglas Shelbourne Wheeling, age 86, of Rochester Hills, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017, at his home.
Douglas was born September 17, 1930, in Pulaski, Virginia, to Gordon and Elsie (Alley) Wheeling. After high school, Douglas enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. With his love of the Airforce he built a couple of airplanes and was a pilot. He worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years. He also enjoyed horses.
Douglas is survived by his son Ronald Wheeling; grandson, Timothy Wheeling; and great grandson, Ian Wheeling.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, enjoying 56 years of marriage; his son, Randy Wheeling; and all of his siblings.
A visitation will take place on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 10am-2pm.
A graveside service will take place at 2:15pm that same day at New Bay Port Cemetery in Fairhaven Twp. Brad Haist will be officiating.
Memorial donations may be given to the family.
