Duane W. Hunt age 60 of Bad Axe died Saturday evening, February 11, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.
He was born September 11, 1945 in Marlette to the late Duane and Virginia (Wilcox) Hunt. Duane grew up south of Ubly and attended Ubly School graduating in 1964. On October 19, 1968, he was united in marriage to Barbara Watts at St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog and made their home in Elkton. Duane was employed at Active Industries at that time as a HiLo driver retiring in 2002 for health reasons, with over 34 years of service. In 1998, they moved to Bad Axe.
Duane was a member of the Bad Axe Knights of Columbus and enjoyed bowling, he also enjoyed going to tractor pulls, sometimes pulling with his dodge 4X4 Pickup, bringing home several trophies.
Surviving are his wife, Barb; two sons, Jason and his fiancée, Pam Wolfe of Bay Port and Eric and his wife, Samantha of Sebewaing; six grandchildren, Cory, Kendal, Jay, Kyle, Jade and Fiona; three brothers, Richard (Darlene) Hunt of Ubly, Bob (Bonnie) Hunt of North Branch and Ron (Jan) Hunt of Phoenix, AZ and two sisters, Eva (Bill) Sparks of Shields and Sue (Rich) Lithgoe of Phoenix, AZ and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:30 PM Tuesday evening, February 14, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Steve Bouverette of the Owendale Community of Christ Church will officiate with burial in Elkland Twp Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Monday and from 2 until the service time Tuesday.
