Duane Lynn Maguire

Duane Lynn Maguire, age 53, of Fairgrove, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Born on October 29, 1971, in Saginaw, he was the son of Edward Maguire and Joanne (Montgomery) Broadworth. After graduating high school, Duane built a career in the building trades, working in residential, commercial, and road construction. A true jack-of-all-trades, he was always willing to lend a hand with any project. On June 19, 2004, Duane married his soulmate, Erin Hormel, at the Mayville United Methodist Church, and together they built a life filled with love and adventure.

Duane’s commitment to his community was evident, proudly serving as the former president of the Village of Fairgrove. He was also a seasonal site holder at Krystal Lake Campground, where he made many memories with family and friends around the campfire. An avid outdoorsman, Duane loved hunting, fishing, and the thrill of speed. He enjoyed putting together puzzles and was a true people watcher. However, nothing brought him more joy than watching his children excel in sports and activities. His family was his greatest pride, and his love, laughter, and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Duane leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of twenty years, Erin Maguire; two children, who were the lights of his life, Makayla and Will; father, Edward Maguire; siblings, Brent Maguire and Denise Maguire; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his very special furbaby, Molly. Duane was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Broadworth; step-father, Ed Broadworth; and step-mother, Arlene Maguire.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive visitors on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of his service.
