Duane "Frank" Mcilhargie

Duane “Frank” McIlhargie, 79, of Caseville, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

Frank was born February 17, 1932 on his family’s farm on Champagne Road near Pinnebog to the late Cyril and Hazel (Herzog) McIlhargie. He attended school in Pinnebog and Elkton before joining the US Army during the Korean War. On November 26, 1954 he married Nancy J. Ford at St. Felix Catholic Church in Pinnebog.

Frank was a carpenter, working 30 years with Bay Port Construction and 10 years with D&D Construction. He was a member of the Caseville American Legion and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a devoted and loving grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Nancy; sons Darin (Cheryl) of Caseville, Dan (Tonya) of Caseville and Brent (Crystal) of Washington Twp; grandchildren Bayley, Payton and Shelby; step-grandchildren Hart, Wally and Nicole; and siblings Mabel Lenda of Owendale, Richard (Louise) of Caseville, Marlene (Guy) Schram of Montana, Linda McIlhargie of New Mexico, Conrad of Elkton, Brad (Diane) of Pinnebog, Gloria (Dave) Cobb of Flushing and Leo (Mary) of Caseville.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Janice and Aloysious.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Friday, November 25th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with Chaplain Karen Bouverette officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Caseville American Legion. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
