Earl W. Dietzel of Caro, age 82, went to celebrate with his Father in heaven on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Covenant Cooper in Saginaw surrounded by his loving family. Earl was born on November 25, 1941, to Aaron and Vernia Blakely in Elkton. In 1944, he was adopted by Daniel and Clara Dietzel in Elkton, where he grew up on their family farm and developed a deep passion for farming. Earl pursued various trades, including sales and factory work, but his heart always remained in agriculture. On July 10, 1964, Earl married Eleanor Lucille Surbrook in Marlette. Their union was blessed with forty-eight years and filled with cherished memories until Eleanor's passing on November 7, 2012. Earl found love and joy again when he met Jane Schulz. They were married on January 23, 2013, and have enjoyed eleven beautiful years together.
Earl was known for his servant's heart, always eager to assist those in need, particularly individuals seeking a fresh start in life. He was a man of strong faith and an active member of the Caro Assembly of God. Earl loved to serve his church, always looking for something that needed to be done and praying for the Missions. He had something to give to anyone he met and had an incredibly generous heart. Earl was a great storyteller and an even better jokester. His favorite moments were spent tending to his garden and spending time with his family. Earl's vibrant, affectionate, and lively personality has left an enduring mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Earl leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Jane Dietzel of Caro; children, Pastor David (Julie) Dietzel of Caro, Pastor Timothy Dietzel of Marlette, Pastor Paul (Jessica) Dietzel of Corunna, and Mary (Robert) Wright of Birch Run; stepchildren, Susan (Gary) McCormick of Caseville, Rachel (Scott) Deming of Yale, Crystal Luggier of Carsonville, Jill (Steven) Guiger of Snover, and Steven (Jan) Schulz of Port Hope; grandchildren, Noel (Bob) Hoffa, Jeremiah (Maranda) Dietzel, Thomas Levine, Austin (Melissa) Dietzel, Emily (Luke) Hollin, Autumn (Brandon) Arp, Elijah Dietzel, Lillie Dietzel, Andrew and Johanna Campbell; six great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen (John) Bedford of Kentucky; many nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by his birth parents, Aaron and Vernia Blakely; adoptive parents, Daniel and Clara Dietzel; stepmother, Mildred Dietzel; his first wife, Eleanor Dietzel; ten brothers and sisters.
