Earl W. Wilson of Caro, age 66, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. Earl was born October 9, 1951 in Cranks County, Kentucky, the son of the late Simon & Loutisha (Helton) Wilson, and he served with the U.S. Army in Viet Nam. He was united in marriage with the former Zetta Shappell on July 5, 2002 in Caro. Earl was employed in maintenance with General Motors for over twenty-five years, retiring from the Pontiac Plant. He was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge, Caro VFW Post #4164, and the United Auto Workers. Earl will be remembered as the life of the party, and a man with an endlessly generous heart made of gold. He had a meticulous nature, and could often be found cleaning his car, tending to his yard, or cutting his children's grass when they didn't meet his standard. Earl is survived by his wife, Zetta Wilson of Caro; four children and their spouses, Eric & Carrie Harden of Hadley, Angela Tyson of Caro, Holly Wilson & Scott Grey of Goodrich, David & Jennifer Gray of Cass City; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings and their spouses, Ronnie & Alice Wilson of Kingsman, Arizona, Sue & Don Stewart of Franklin, Tennessee, Jack & Mary Wilson of Powell, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Smith; and one brother, Mack Wilson. Earl's family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The gathering will end with a brief prayer at the funeral home and luncheon at the Caro Moose Lodge.
