Earline D. Powell age 79, of Elkton, died Wednesday evening, August 1, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.
She was born August 8, 1927 at the home of her parents the late Earl and Lona (Davidson) Cliff in Grant Twp. She grew up in Grand twp. and lived in the Elkton area most of her life.
On January 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Vern Powell in Bad Axe. He preceded her in death November 14, 1997.
Earline was employed a General Cable in Cass City for 9 years. She retired in 1973 for health reasons. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton and the Elkton Historical Society. Earline enjoyed playing cards and dominos, and going for coffee at the Lunch Bucket.
Surviving are three children, Carolyn (Richard) Crittenden of Caro, Diane (Mark) Battel of Cass City and Tim (Nola) Powell of Ortonville; six grandchildren, Rick, Laurie, Bob, Brenda, Nicki and Lindsey; four great grandchildren, Adele, Ethan, Gavin and Dori; her brother, Larry (Josephine) Rockefeller of Grant Twp.; four sisters, Ardis (Norman) Allen of St. Louis, Jackie Diebel of Elkton, Betty Miller of Cass City and Sharon (Carl) Heiden of Meade Twp and her sister-in-law, Beverly Rockefeller of Cass City. Preceding her in death was a brother, Donald Rockefeller and a brother-in-law, Bud Diebel.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, August5, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton. Rev. Eldon Bickel, pastor will officiate with burial in Elkland Twp. Cemetery, Cass City.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 3 to 9 PM Saturday and at the church after 1 PM Sunday.
Memorials may be given to her church or the Elkton Historical Society.
