Ed Faust

Ed Faust of Caro, age 70, passed away in Saginaw at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Ed was born March 22, 1952 in Caro, the son of Dorothy (Demo) and the late Elmer Faust. He graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1970 and went on to further his studies in the arts at Delta College. Ed was a self-employed artist and specialized in a variety of mediums. He was very creative with tile, wood carving, ice sculptures, and stained glass. Ed loved to watch football & NASCAR and had the nickname "Fast Eddie." You could often find Ed in his garden growing sunflowers to share with others, listening to rock-n-roll, eating blueberries, and taking photographs. He absolutely adored his sisters, even though he often picked on them. Ed had a zest for life and will be missed by all who knew him. Ed is survived by his mother, Dorothy Faust of Midland; four sisters and their spouses, Pamela & Johnathan Miller of Midland, Patti Faust-Gabler of Caro (friend, Dave), Mary & Steve Lloyd of Bay City, and Jane & Mike Butcher of Caseville; brother-in-law, Kurt Abbe of Grayling; nieces and nephews, Nick Miller, Kaitlyn Boese, Stephanie Losee, Paige Lloyd, Jake Butcher, Kelsey Havercamp, Kurt Abbe, Jr., Ethan Abbe, and Harrison Abbe; great-nieces and great-nephews, Colton, Alexandria, Emma, Everleigh, Nash, Wyatt, and Kamden; aunts, Idena Rodd and Onna Lee Miklovic; an uncle, Roy Wightman; along with many special cousins and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Faust, and sister, Sue Abbe. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January, 28, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Christopher Coman officiating. Ed's family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 12:00 p.m. service. There will also be a celebration of life held during warmer weather to honor Ed. Inurnment will take place in Almer Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
