Edna Marguerite Dutcher (Stahl), 96, of Caseville passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Edna was born on February 21, 1929, in Caseville, Michigan, to the late Arthur and Edith (Quinn) Stahl. She was a 1949 graduate of Bay Port High School. After high school, she earned an associate degree from Bay City Business College and worked for a time at a car dealership before beginning her lifelong athletic journey, playing semi-professional softball for the Hamilton Watch Company in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
She married Melvin “Pete” Dutcher on August 20, 1955, at Caseville Methodist Church. The couple spent nearly 65 years together until Pete’s passing on February 20, 2020. Edna used her business acumen to help Pete establish his accounting practice in 1958 and remained a steadfast support to both him and their family.
She was an active member of the Caseville Fraternal Order of Eagles #3690 and the American Legion Auxiliary, a parishioner of Caseville Global Methodist Church, and a longtime member of Scenic Golf and Country Club, where she won the club championship more than 50 times. A headstrong perfectionist, Edna believed deeply in self-improvement and instilled in her family the values of sportsmanship, community involvement, and the importance of practice in striving to be one’s best.
Edna is survived by her children: Robin (Ginger Pohlman) Dutcher of Pennsylvania, Stacey Richards of Florida, and Shari (Dan) Fisher of Ann Arbor; her grandchildren: Anthony (Jordan), Talia (Nicholas), Jonathan (Morgan), Jessica (Michael), Nathaniel (Nicole), Joshua, Rebecca (Logan), Matthew (Lyuba), Michael (Sarai), Jordan (Lauren), Steven (Holly), and Abby; and her great-grandchildren: Liam, Levi, Ellissa, Charlotte, and Evelyn. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
