Edward Brklacich, age 82, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 9, 2013, with his family by his side at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.

He was born November 21, 1930 to Marco and Mary (Zanich) Brklacich in Detroit.

Edward is a Central Michigan University Alumni. He worked as a teacher at Carleton Airport Schools, Sebewaing High School and USA Schools. He also was a coach, Athletic Director, opened his own frame shop and founder of Great Lakes Maritime Museum. He was a member of the Elks Club, Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men's club. He enjoyed woodworking, playing softball, golfing and bowling.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; his loving children: Mary Ziehm, Karen (Tom) Tucker and Nancy (Tom) Betson; he is the proud grandfather of Todd Ziehm, Andrea (Derek) Howard, Melissa Mellendorf, Jodi Tucker, Shari (Corey) Groening, Michelle (Rob) Bitz, Matthew (Melanie) Tucker, Kimberly (Steve) Deneen, Kristine (Chris) Alexander and Thomas (Ashley) Betson; and dearest great grandfather of: Addison, Noah, Brooke, Zachary, Cole, Cooper, Shiloh, Brady, Breanna, Tyler, Isabelle, Lexie, Reid, Ryan, Rylie and Cierria.

Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2013 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-9pm.

The funeral service is Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

The family is honoring his wishes of cremation following the service.

Memorial donations may be given to Trinity United Methodist church in Sebewaing or Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum, 367 N. 3rd St. Rogers City, MI 49779.
